Base metals

Tin (Sn) is a light soft silvery-white metal, which is used as a component of numerous alloys that have high resistance to corrosion. Primary tin is produced from cassiterite, while secondary tin often comes from recycling activities.

Nowadays, tin is widely used in soldering for the electronics industry, production of tinplate and manufacturing of alloys for  automotive and aerospace industries.
